Taghi's Hitman

Gerel P. emerged from the streets of Utrecht as a childhood friend of Ridouan Taghi, becoming a key member of the "The Bad Boys" gang. As Taghi rose to become one of the Netherlands' most notorious criminals, Gerel P. transformed into his most valuable and trusted hitman. He was involved in numerous criminal activities, from membership in a criminal organization to shootings and robberies, leading a life on the run for years, expertly evading Dutch police and even orchestrating prison escapes. His criminal career is marked by extreme violence, including his alleged involvement in the murder of spyshop employee Ronald Bakker in 2015, a brutal act of retaliation ordered by Taghi. In another chilling incident in 2016, Gerel P. lured Eduardo P. and Shernon B. under false pretenses to a remote area in Noorderloos, where he ambushed and shot them multiple times - a motive that remains unclear. Both victims miraculously survived, leading to Gerel P.'s identification and an intensified manhunt. Gerel P.'s flight took him from the Netherlands to Suriname, where he was arrested in 2017, only to escape a high-security prison weeks later with the help of an unknown accomplice, likely his lawyer. After years of being untraceable, international law enforcement, tipped off by the DEA, located him in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2021. Despite his evasive tactics, including living under an alias and frequently moving, a clever police ruse ultimately led to his arrest. He is currently detained in Brazil, awaiting extradition to the Netherlands, where he has been sentenced in absentia to 20 years for the attempted murders in Noorderloos, with further charges pending.
